Software Modules

Cobra AutoCash™
AutoCash is designed for clients who want to automate the acceptance of money into resident accounts. AutoCash works with Western Union and Government Pay Services (GPS), who will accept monies for a resident at either their walk-in store locations, through their internet websites or over the phone. These providers will send Cobra a file with the information about the deposit and AutoCash will connect to the facility’s system and make the deposit into the resident’s account. The Cobra Software Group then facilitates the transfer of the funds to the facilities’ checking account after an evaluation and audit of the data is completed.

Cobra AutoCollect™
AutoCollect is designed for clients who want to increase the amount of old debt collected from former residents. The facility has the capability of determining which receivables to send to the collection agency and once a day, Cobra Banker will send the receivables from released residents to the collection agency and writes off that receivable in Cobra Banker. The collection agency will do the leg work for the facility in attempting to collect. The collection agency will send a check and report listing to the facility for the monies received. The file is processed into Cobra Banker eliminating many hours of the manual process of having to hand-enter every receivable charge or credit.

Cobra Bail™
Bail provides a method for the facility to receipt and track payment of resident bail charges. Cobra Banker allows bail payments to be processed from the resident’s commissary balance or received from an external source, at any time in the process, until the charge is paid-in-full. Bail module allows flexibility in the handling of bail payments by allowing the client to set up bail accounts that can be paid out by resident or disbursed for several residents in one lump sum.

Cobra Banker™
Cobra Banker is a flexible, easy-to-operate resident accounting software system, designed specifically to manage the personal funds and property of incarcerated residents. Cobra Banker is the base product software that allows a series of integrated modules to interact and create an easy-to-operate, user-friendly and cost-effective work environment. You get to choose the modules that best fit your facility’s needs so that you can maximize your investment and customize your solution.

Cobra Book In Now™
Book In Now is designed to alleviate the unproductive task of double entry. When a resident is booked into a facility, the resident’s identification information must be entered into a Jail Management System (JMS) and Cobra Banker. Book In Now accepts a real time message from the facility’s JMS and processes the information into Cobra Banker. Not only does Book In Now process new account information, it can also reopen accounts, process housing location changes and more. Book In Now also accepts classifications, restrictions and can charge receivables. Book In Now is a fully functional XML/SOAP interface.

Cobra Combo Cashier™
Combo Cashier is designed to simplify the receiving and receipting of money for resident accounts into Cobra Banker. Visitors can add money directly to a resident’s account when a facility places a Combo Cashier in the lobby, eliminating the need for staffed money windows and can eliminate the need to process money orders. Combo Cashier allows your facility to accept deposits in the form of Cash, Credit Cards, and/or Debit Cards. Cash transactions are verified by denominations and counterfeit and non-detectable currency is rejected. Debit and credit card transactions are verified for card viability at time of transaction. The Combo Cashier solution is fully funded by fees, similar to Bank ATM fees, assessed to the depositor. This reduces the daily handling of money and increases the accuracy of where the money is being applied. If a Combo Booking Cashier was placed in the booking area, the resident can apply cash directly into their own account, further reducing the need for staff to handle cash at the facility.

Cobra Charge It Now™
Charge It Now is designed for clients who want to automate the charging or crediting of receivables. In order to save valuable time and lessen errors, Charge It Now accepts a text file from the facility’s system and processes those receivables into Cobra Banker.

Cobra Document Manager™
Document Manager is designed for Cobra Banker Kiosk clients who desire a method for presenting documents to their residents. Document Manager allows the facility to maintain a library of documents that the residents can retrieve and view.

Cobra GT™
Working in conjunction with the Cobra Kiosk, this innovative program is specifically designed to create a paperless resident request procedure that will provide facilities with the automation and accountability to reduce valuable staff time spent processing resident requests. Upon implementation, GT can be used from our Cobra Kiosks as another option for inmates to communicate their concerns to staff. Through a user friendly interface, inmates are lead through a series of screen menu options that allow them to input text to corrections staff. These communications are simply typed into the kiosk through the electronic keyboard on the screen. Residents are given access through their inmate ID # or fingerprint and through Cobra Banker, staff can grant or restrict access based on behavior or conduct.

Cobra Information Manager™
Information Manager is designed for clients who use Cobra Combo Cashiers and desire a method for displaying documents and information for the residents. Information Manager allows the facility to maintain a library of documents that the residents can retrieve and view on the cashier.

Cobra Kiosk™
Kiosk is a free-standing, wall mounted device with a fingerprint scanner and a touch screen for use within a facility pod by the residents. This is typically found in a common area that the residents have access to at some time during the day. This solution was developed to allow residents access to historical information regarding their individual trust fund account. Kiosk is designed to reduce the resident requests regarding their trust fund account and provides a method to verify their balances, review receipts, order commissary, file and review grievances. The Kiosk is typically accessed utilizing the resident account number and a fingerprint and is secured to give the resident access to only data pertinent to their own trust fund account.

Cobra Location Restriction™
Location Restriction benefits the facility by providing a method for assigning a restriction or multiple restrictions to a location. In Cobra Banker's terminology, a restriction is a limitation placed on a resident's account and/or an inventory item or PAK. The facility can use this to prevent certain inventory items from being purchased by resident's in a particular location.

Cobra MICR Printing™
MICR Printing allows the facility to eliminate “pre-printed” check stock. Blank check stock is less expensive, eliminates unauthorized issuance of checks and reduces costly voids. This feature requires "special” MICR printers that use magnetic ink cartridges and highly secure fonts to print the financial institution and payee account information on the blank check stock.

Cobra Multiple Release™
Multiple Release provides a method for releasing multiple resident accounts at one time and paying out that total sum with one check. Typically used when multiple residents are being moved from one facility to another. The Multiple Release feature provides the facility with a report that can be sent along with the check to the receiving facility. Each resident's account will have a receipt stored reflecting the transaction, but the operator is not required to manually release each resident. If the facility is also using the Property module, all property items assigned to the residents may also be released with this process.

Cobra Orders Text File™
Orders Text File provides the facility with the option of receiving a text (txt) file of the commissary orders for use with their commissary provider.

Cobra Pay Me Now™
Pay Me Now was designed for clients who want to automate a hands-free way of processing payroll transactions. Pay Me Now accepts a file containing payroll information from the facility and processes the information automatically into resident accounts in Cobra Banker.

Cobra Payroll™
Payroll provides the facility with an easy and accurate means of paying and tracking monies paid to residents for work performed. When payroll is paid to a resident account, the total paid is added to the resident's commissary balance. If the resident owes for an outstanding receivable debt and/or Scheduled Payments, the appropriate amount is collected. Residents also benefit by having access to monies earned, in a timely manner.

Cobra Phone It In™
Phone It In is a commissary order entry system designed to work with the facility’s phone provider. The residents will utilize the phone system to connect to Phone It In to order commissary or to check their commissary balance. This system makes the task of processing orders simple and reduces the facility’s involvement with having to physically key the orders or process scan sheets. The resident is in control of their order and will hear immediately if they are not able to order an item due to restrictions or limits. If they receive money during the week, the residents are able to order more than once during the week and the orders will be consolidated.

Cobra Prop In™
Prop In is designed for clients who are converting to Cobra Banker and intend to utilize the Property module. In order to save valuable time, lessen errors, and alleviate stress, we designed Prop In to accept a file from the facility’s JMS system. The file processes resident property information into Cobra Banker eliminating the need to hand-enter every property item held in the facility.

Cobra Property™
Property efficiently records and tracks resident property within Cobra Banker. This module allows the facility to assign a specific property bag to a resident account and enter the property items confiscated from the resident into the bag. If necessary, multiple property bags may be assigned to a resident account. Property items may be received from the resident or from a third party requiring the name and address of the source. Property items may also be released to the resident or a third party.

Cobra Qwick POSt™
Qwick POSt (Point Of Sale) is a commissary order entry system designed to use a hand scanner, similar to the scanners used in convenience stores. Orders are processed with less chance of error because items are scanned using the item's UPC bar code instead of being hand-keyed by a user.

Cobra Report Exporter™
Report Exporter provides the facility with a process to save data, compiled through a Cobra Banker report, and export that data to a file outside of the Cobra Banker system. This allows our clients the ability to take information from Cobra Banker and create their own specialized reports.

Cobra Rotating Indigent PAKs™
Rotating Indigent PAKs enables a facility to have more than one indigent PAK available. The facility can set a schedule whereby the resident would cycle through the indigent PAKs and not get the same one twice in a row. This is a cost savings to the facility because of how the item selection could be utilized to eliminate waste.

Cobra Scanner™
Scanner provides a facility with the option of scanning commissary orders through an optical scanner using bubble sheets provided by Cobra Software Group. The scanner reads the sheets and creates a file that is used by Cobra Banker to process commissary or indigent orders, reducing manual keystrokes.

Cobra Scheduled Payments™
Scheduled Payments provides a method to collect and disburse the mandated financial obligations of their residents. Across the country, facilities have now been given the responsibility of administering financial obligations, such as court fees and restitution, for their residents. The manner in which these obligations must be collected and disbursed is often specific to the resident and/or facility. For example, when a resident is ordered to pay restitution, the details of how this money will be collected, how often it can be collected, how and to whom it will be paid, is typically specific to the resident and the case. Scheduled Payment provides the facility with a configurable tool to charge, collect and disburse these obligations by resident.

Cobra Sidekick™
Sidekick is a portable hand held device with barcode scanner and a touch screen for use within a facility pod by the inmates. It provides a method for the inmates to verify their balances, review receipts, and order commissary when a kiosk is not available.

Cobra Signature Capture™
Signature Capture allows facilities to retain an electronic signature copy of the resident or visitor to add another measure of security and documentation to financial transactions. This reduces or eliminates the storage of facility receipts. These electronically signed receipts can be reprinted or exported to a file is and emailed to provide almost instant access to signed documents.

Cobra SmartCards™
SmartCards are an easy and secure way to issue remaining funds to residents upon release that addresses and solves the problem of ongoing check fraud. These debit cards can be used at any ATM to withdraw cash or can be used at a variety of retail store for goods and services. Using this module allows facilities to eliminate the workload of tracking or accounting for lost, unused or small balance checks.

Cobra Stocker™
Stocker is an inventory stock balance entry system that accepts a text file containing inventory item codes, descriptions and stock balances from an inventory system and processes the file in Cobra Banker. This allows an on-site commissary operation that does not utilize StoreClerk to enter stock balances into Cobra Banker.

Cobra Store Clerk™
Store Clerk is an inventory management system designed to provide a process to order and receive inventory. Store Clerk also simplifies entering inventory counts and produces valuable reports that assist in the management and auditing of inventory.

Cobra TeleLink™
TeleLink is designed to alleviate the unproductive task of double entries. When a resident is booked into a facility, the resident’s identification information must be entered into a Jail Management System (JMS), Cobra Banker and the facility phone provider’s system. TeleLink automatically sends a message to the phone provider’s system letting them know of the new resident. Changes to a resident’s account, resident number, name, or PIN are also sent to the phone provider. The resident can purchase phone dollars through Cobra Banker and those purchases are sent immediately to the phone provider giving the resident the ability to use the purchase minutes with minimal delay. Releases are easier too, because as the release is processed in Cobra Banker, TeleLink will send the request for unused phone dollars to the phone provider and those unused funds are returned and applied to the resident’s commissary balance.

Cobra Transfer Fund™
Transfer Fund provides a method for the facility to move monies from one resident's commissary account to another resident's commissary account. Transfer module allows the facility to consider the amount of the resident's debt before the transfer is initiated to prevent a resident from transferring money to avoid paying that debt. The module also provides the facility with options regarding the collection of debt upon receipt of the transferred funds. The collection of debt can be processed automatically or manually, and left to the decision of the operator at the time of transfer.

Telerus Interface ™
The Telerus Interface is designed to provide the facility with an interface to the Telerus IVR system in order to find a resident’s commissary balance without the facility being involved. Every 10 minutes a flat file is sent to Telerus for all the active residents in a facility.

Cobra Validator™
With the growing number of check fraud schemes today, Validator is a must for every facility. Validator is designed to assist our clients in eliminating check fraud occurrences. This simple but powerful tool creates a text file containing check information transacted on a specified date. You then send the file to your financial institution to be queried when a check is presented for payment. Your Validator will be written to meet your facility’s needs as well as those of your financial institution.

Cobra Visitation™
Visitation provides a way to track, schedule and simplify the visitation process; and allows the management of all aspects of guest entrance, registration and interaction with residents. Visitation reduces direct staff involvement while retaining critical information for review. Residents are held accountable for ensuring their preferred guests are submitted and approved for admittance into the facility. Visitation provides a green solution, reducing the printing cost of visitation forms, and provides both the residents and the facility staff a method to view resident calendars and scheduled visits. It also provides the means to reduce issues dealing with conflicts between visitors and residents.

Cobra Work Release Solutions™
Work Release Solutions is a fully integrated program working in conjunction with Cobra Banker and Cobra Kiosk providing a complete solutions package for managing and supporting “work release” programs.
